Meal plan for July 8th – 14th

Well friends, we sure had a go of the warm weather around here lately!  The garden is going crazy (photos at some point), and raspberries and blueberries are ripening hourly.  It’s all I can do to save any of the raspberries for later.  Jack, aka “Berry Man” is shockingly efficient at picking things right as they ripen.  After he is in bed, I go out with a small bowl and try my best to glean whatever is left.  Some I eat, and some I try to freeze.

Here is the native Jack in his element; naked and picking fruit.  No setting on the camera will prevent my white ghost baby from blurring out in the sunshine.  The bush was not strategically placed; just a lucky shot by me!  It is a good thing you can search for sex offenders by your address, since my kid is outside naked pretty much from May – October.

This week we’re not really having a meal plan.  Jack and I are leaving on a jetplane on Wednesday to go see my bestie Anne!!!!!  We’ll be gone until Sunday, so Troy is left to fend for himself.  And then when I come back, I’m still off for an additional week.  That’s right, I took an entire two weeks off, and I’m not thinking about work until Monday the 22nd.

Monday::  Spinach salad with salmon cakes topping them.  Salmon cakes are from the freezer.

Tuesday:: Troy is going to make his world-famous burgers, and I’m going to document them to share the recipe with you all.  It’s not secret, but like me, Troy doesn’t measure when he makes his burgers!  We’ll probably have grilled veg along side, and watermelon.

What are you all having this week?

  1. I’m so happy to hear that we will be getting the burger recipe soon! I could definitely use a good burger recipe.
