Scattered Sundays and Meal Plan

Well hello, there friends!

These next few weeks may prove a bit interesting. I’m not able to discuss the details, but let’s just say I’ll be hanging out with 11 new friends and raking in $10 a day. And yes, my lifelong dreams are coming true (not sarcasm).

Thankfully, Troy was already on vacation this week so he gets to spend some extra time with the boys. :snicker:

Being self-employed and gone for multiple days will prove…interesting. I’m going to do my best to keep my posting schedule but please do give me some grace if I’m absent for a bit.

Hey, so remember a few weeks ago when I mentioned something amazing had happened? But I didn’t tell you what it is because I’m a total blog tease? Well, guess what? I finally get to shout the news from the rooftops!

I was on a podcast this week! A food blogging podcast called Dishing With Delishes. It’s one I have followed from the very beginning and it was such an honor to be able to be on there and talk about my blogging experiences. If you want to listen, here is the link.

This week we grilled up some veggies with chicken sausage and sweet onions. I had a bag of broccoli florets that needed some love and threw them in at the last minute. We’ve never grilled broccoli before but it was delicious and I highly recommend.

How was your 4th of July? We had a great time at my in-law’s and ate entirely too much. Which as we all know is the American way. The evening ended with way too many fireworks in our neighborhood but we were all so tired that it was easy to sleep through them.

Where my adult acne sufferers at? I see you there. I found a new product last week that I’m pretty much in love with right now. It’s a drying lotion that you can put on breakouts at night and it freaking works. Just a tiny dab at night and it dries almost instantly which rules for when you’re ready to just go to bed already.

I read about it in US Weekly um, The Economist.

Meal Plan

Monday:: Paninis, salad, and grilled zukes

Tuesday:: Chicken taco bowls of cauli rice. This was supposed to happen last week but we had too many leftovers to use up.

Wednesday:: Out. I do anticipate mid-week will be when Troy is officially losing his mind (as I would be) so no one having to cook will be nice.

Thursday:: Bruschetta Chicken with zoodles

Friday:: Popcorn, leftovers, and movie night

Saturday:: TBD

Sunday:: Family dinner

What We Bought This Week

Smith Brother’s Farms – $49.31. Our delivery date is changing this week so we front-loaded some stuff to make up for the missing delivery. Also, Troy really wanted one of their 2018 limited edition shirts, so that added to the bill.

Costco: $78.85. Water and fruit snacks are for church for vacation bible school.

Fred Meyer: $35.66. I crushed some coupons and Friday freebies this week! A lot of this stuff was for the 4th.

Due to my interesting schedule for this coming week, I had to do my weekly grocery shopping early. It all evens out.

Farmer’s Market: $32. I didn’t take a pic, but it was all veg and fruit.

  1. Did the Whole 30 affect your acne at all? After going keto and doing the oil cleaning, I’ve turned into someone who doesn’t break out unless it’s that time of the month. Even then it’s only a small inconvenience rather than the big cystic acne I was getting.

  2. So I’m guessing you have already been put on a case? Good luck! I got called last year – was one of the toughest things I’ve ever been thru. Deciding the rest of people’s lives is a BIG DEAL. 2 sleepless nights and days of intense conversations with complete strangers made me proud to be a citizen of a democracy.
    I’ll be thinking of you.

  3. I so curious about the details! The zucchini chips are my favorite too! Thanks for the ideas!

  4. Haha! “…US Weekly um, The Economist.” Entertaining post! And entertaining DwD episode. As hubby of the host, I’m a fan by marriage, but your episode was truly a standout. I laughed out loud a few times. And I learned something (more) about blogging.

    • Your wife is a real gem Christopher; I had so much fun talking with her! Thanks for being a part of the team that brings the podcast to the masses.

  5. That drying lotion is AMAZING!! Just don’t ever shake it or let it lay on its side, it doesn’t work as well once it’s all combined! I actually love all of that line but I swear by the Enzyme cleanzing gel for face wash! It even clears up my stress induced psoriasis that prescription creams won’t touch!

  6. Loved listening to you on Dishing with Delishes. It was really fun hearing your actual voice!

    • Awww thanks for listening Paula. Did I sound like you expected? It’s always interesting to finally “hear” someone and know what they actually sound like.
