Small Business Showcase #3
It used to be my only goal was to get the best deal possible. Clothing, kitchen stuff, whatever – didn’t matter, I was on a mission to get a steal. My mindset has shifted a bit. I still love a sweet score, but I have also developed a passion for shopping locally and supporting small businesses whenever possible. That is why I started Small Business Showcase, to give back and highlight some of the hard working readers who frequent this blog.
Today’s small business is Fueled Marketing headed up by my friend Kendra.
1) Give us your best 30 second “elevator pitch” about your business. What it is, why it’s unique, and what motivates you to do the work?
Fueled Marketing is an outsourced marketing agency. We partner with small-to-mid-sized businesses to optimize their marketing, so they can focus on the business. Our work includes auditing, planning, and execution of campaigns and messaging across all relevant marketing channels to reach and engage with the target audience, helping move them along to becoming loyal customers. Our goal is to help you grow your company and make a positive impact to your revenue and profits with marketing.
2) Tell us a little about yourself.
As a marketing professional with more than 20 years experience, I often find myself stepping back to observe how people tell their stories, how companies tell their stories, and seeking out the little things that can make someone’s business unique. It is often those small things that, when magnified, become the very heart of their business.
In my free-time, I can be found in San Diego, teaching marketing classes at a local university, drinking coffee and writing, and playing with my puppy at the beach. In the summers, I am often in a canoe with my outrigger canoe team off the coast of Southern California.
3) What has been your favorite item to make or sell?
There is something about brainstorming with clients to find the right message, or campaign idea that will really resonate with their target audience, and then watching it take shape as the customer base grows. It’s similar when I’m teaching. Students get excited about how they look at marketing, practicing it, learning how to be successful. It is fun to watch and see how they apply the concepts to their own businesses, and to the world around them.
Kendra has a super cool giveaway today that would be awesome for other small business owners. She is offering an hour brainstorm, and audit for marketing their business. The winner of the giveaway can ask questions, have her review their social media, website, campaigns, etc. Such a cool opportunity for a kick ass marketing professional to help out other businesses! To enter, answer the question below. The giveaway is open until 12 am on Saturday the 18th.
