Small Business Showcase #5

The winner of the Fueled Marketing Giveaway from Showcase #3 was Megan. Megan, Kendra will be contacting you directly for your one hour brainstorming session! Thanks all for participating.

It used to be my only goal was to get the best deal possible. Clothing, kitchen stuff, whatever – didn’t matter, I was on a mission to get a steal. My mindset has shifted a bit. I still love a sweet score, but I have also developed a passion for shopping locally and supporting small businesses whenever possible. That is why I started Small Business Showcase, to give back and highlight some of the hard working readers who frequent this blog.

Today’s small business is Second Chance Effects.

Give us your best 30 second “elevator pitch” about your business. What it is, why it’s unique, and what motivates you to do the work?
We are a family-run company that creates custom products (primarily décor, small furniture, and other household items). Our driving principles are sustainability and quality. We use almost entirely repurposed raw materials and every item is completely hand crafted and built to last. Our motivation is offering customers beautiful products made with materials that would have otherwise likely gone to waste.

Tell us a little about yourself.
My wife Casey and I (Pat Juhasz) have been married for 5 years and have two children (Ally is 3 years old and Little Pat is 8 months). Our biggest passion outside of family is promoting sustainability and doing our part to ensure a safe and lasting natural environment for future generations. We found a great opportunity to combine this passion with our love of woodworking when we started Second Chance Effects. It has allowed us to promote environmentalism and meet great customers along the way. In our free time we love hanging out as a family, gardening, and playing competitive games of Cribbage!

What has been your favorite item to make or sell?
Our best sellers are our state signs and our large wall clocks, but our favorite items to make are those that are completely unique requests from our customers. Being able to create the perfect custom piece for a person or family is the best!

You can connect with Pat and Casey on Facebook and Instagram. For special orders and inquiries, you can email them directly at secondchanceeffects (at) gmail.com. You can also find them in person at Summerfest on July 8th in Lakewood, WA.

1) Small unique businesses only please. If another company makes you buy in to sell their products (essential oils, candles, etc.), we are unable to feature you.

3) I am not accepting any goods, affiliate kick backs, sponsorship, or compensation for featuring a business. You are welcome to offer my readers a discount, or host a giveaway, but it is not required by any means.
I hope to hear from you and your team!
