Top 10 Recipes of 2019
As the new year starts, I love taking a quick look back at all the tasty things I have shared with my amazing readers over the last 12 months.
Before we get into the meat and potatoes of the post, I wanted to take a moment once again to say thank you. Thank you for being a reader, for your support, your kindness, and for challenging me to keep doing more.
You’re the reason I am here and my heartfelt wish is for a very happy 2020 for everyone.
This mocktail has been our #1 recipe each week this year and I'm proud to say it was shared in a roundup on Oprah's website. The inspiration from this recipe actually came from my cousin's wedding almost 10 years ago. Once you realize how delicious and simple it is to make, you'll be a fan too. Peaches were one of the first things I learned to can, and I'm thrilled I could share this tutorial with so many readers. Pears were something my mom used to can and we'd eat them for breakfast during the winter. I have fond memories of enjoying these, and being able to share this with others gives me all the warm fuzzies. A dairy-free knock-off version of the over-priced Starbucks breakfast bites, this recipe came about when my friend Mary asked me to create a homemade version. Also, I had to edit out two pieces of bacon in the bottom two bites because they looked like nipples. I eat pretty much the same breakfast every morning. Some might call it lazy, but I prefer the term "efficient". Make yourself a big batch of scrambled eggs and you'll have a daily breakfast fit for a queen with little to no effort. I mean, vegetables are great, but have you tried fried?? This recipe was inspired by the need to be able to find new ways to use up the zucchini that the garden was barfing out. They're sooooo good and can be made in the air fryer or oven. One of the most highly rated recipes on the blog, this recipe is one that even picky kids love. It's even better the next day, making all busy people thrilled for a meal prep winner. This goes really well with the Virgin Mojito, but it's also incredible for flavoring iced teas and other cold drinks. It is also the recipe that cracks me up every time I see the photo. That tall glass in the way back was purchased from Goodwill because it was such a cool shape. It was only when I was editing the photos did I notice there was a Camel brand camel logo on the dang thing. Now you'll never be able to unsee it. 🙂 This recipe seems to speak to people because it reminds them of grandma's cooking. I love anytime I can connect people and food memories. Also...that spoon is perfectly positioned like that to hide a giant chip in that thrift store bowl. Mmmmmm, homemade ice cream that tastes like summer? No wonder this one was so popular on Pinterest this year! In other news, I had to move those scoops around for the photos and now all I can see when I look at it is my fingerprints in the ice cream.Top 10 Recipes of 2019
