What people without cable do for fun

I always laugh when people ask me what we do for fun without having 549 channels on the TV.

This is what we do.

Yo yo, head’s up, this post might contain affiliate links which help to support my site. And my canning, seed buying, and aggressive saving habits.

  1. That’s a great way to sum it up. Who needs 300+ channels when you have prime, free entertainment such as this?

  2. Sounds like our house!

  3. I always ask what people with Cable do for fun!

  4. We’ve been without TV for about five years now. Pretty sure I don’t miss being yelled at to think a certain way or to buy a product I don’t need.

  5. Love that…simple pleasures in life are always the best and bring about top memories to reflect on later:D

  6. HI !!! love this blog post because I don’t have tv have not for going on 6 years ! i feel better and get to spend so much more time with me kids. They read more and so do I thanks I though I was alone one this!!

  7. TV is artificial “fun”….real life is what makes memories…but how will you answer tv trivia questions 10 yrs from now!??

  8. I love your blog and your style. You crack me up on a daily basis. Thanks for sharing your “keepin it real” sense of humor!

  9. We’ve been without cable TV for about 10 years.
#1-I love how without cable TV my children are not nearly as “gimme” 🙂
Plus, I’ve got to admit, when a TV is on I turn into a zombie ;( So do the rest of my family. Zaps my creativity.
Having no cable TV (we still watch movies and purchase shows we like) frees up a lot of quality time. Having no cable signal entering my house also frees me from the media and all their lies, manipulation and guilt.

  10. We are without cable but we do have netflix, so we choose what we want to watch and not what is on at the time! I love it!

  11. I n nominated your wonderful and lovely blog for the lovely blog award! I know I don’t comment often, but I read all the time! 🙂

We are without cable as well and stream what we watch. So no commercials! We did use hulu for a while, but meh… netflix is a good choice for some things. (Sherlock for one!)

  12. Thumbs up! We don’t watch TV in our house either, although an occassional movies sneaks in. Life is better without all the drama on TV. Sure you miss a (very) few good programs, but nothing you can’t pick up at the library!

  13. Life is stressful enough as it is. No need to pay for people to come in to my home via Cable and spread hate. It raises my stress level too high. I used to love watching the news as a child. I know Weird kid right? But Now the news is only 10% news 90% fear mongering and Gossip. Not thanks I pay 8 to netflix because I love documentaries but even those I only watch maby 2-3 times a month.
