With Gratitude

On this day of reflection and giving thanks, I wanted to take a moment to share my gratitude with some of my favorite people in the world. You all.

This has been a heck of a year for us. It was full of a lot of joy, accomplishments, and much grief and sadness. Through it all, your kindness, prayers, and grace have meant so much to me and my family. On the mornings when I wanted to stay in bed and hide from the world, you gave me a reason to get up each and every day.

In appreciation of all you have meant to me over the last year, I wrote you a poem. It’s an original. I’m sure you’ve never heard it before because I just wrote it.

Thank you for being a friend.
You traveled down the road and back again.
Your heart is true. You’re a pal and a confidant.
And if you threw a party, and invited everyone you knew.
You would see the biggest gift would be from me.
And the card attached would say thank you for being a friend.

Wow, I feel like those lyrics just flowed out of me. I must have really been in a creative mood this morning. 🙂

May this day find you and your family safe, happy, and healthy. May there be joy and grace in your life today and all days. May the food be delicious and the pies flaky and perfect.

Happy Thanksgiving to you my friends.
