HOW TO REHEAT Frozen Quiche
To reheat a frozen whole quiche, you can place it in the fridge overnight or bake it frozen, straight from the freezer. It will take ~15 minutes to reheat a thawed quiche or 30-60 minutes to reheat a frozen quiche in a 350˚F oven.
Keep the quiche covered with foil while reheating it in the oven. This prevents the top from browning and overcooking during the reheating process.
Pro tip: if you plan to reheat a whole frozen quiche, use metal pie plates instead of ceramic. This prevents potential breakage from the drastic change in temperatures.
To reheat frozen quiche slices, you can place them in the fridge for a few hours or bake them from frozen. A thawed quiche slice will take about 45 seconds in a microwave. A frozen quiche slice will take around 2-3 minutes in a microwave. Check the progress after 90 seconds.
Pro Tips/Recipe Notes
- Quiche made with full-fat milk or cream will freeze better than one made with low-fat milk products.
- Prior to freezing, allow the quiche to fully cool in the fridge. This will prevent condensation from forming in the freezer, which can cause the quiche to become icy.
- Some vegetables will become mushy when frozen and then reheated. A quiche that contains certain veggies like squash, asparagus, and mushrooms will still be delicious if reheated, but the vegetables may be watery.

Instructions

FREEZING QUICHE WHOLE
- Wrap fully cooled whole quiche in foil and place it in a flat place in the freezer for 4-5 hours.
- Depending on the size of the pie pan, some whole quiches may fit in gallon-size freezer-proof bags.
FREEZING QUICHE IN SLICES
- Fit parchment or waxed paper on a rimmed baking sheet.
- Place fully cooled quiche slices on the baking sheet and freeze for 2-3 hours in a flat place in the freezer.

I made and froze several quiche. We reheated in microwave and it was very soggy. I’ll try the oven. Any tips to keep it from getting soggy.?
Hi Jen, the biggest tip that I mention in the post is to make sure the quiche is fully cooled before freezing. This will prevent a build up of ice on/in the quiche which can cause it to become waterlogged when reheating.
Thank you for this. I just baked two and was looking for answers.
Happy freezing, Lesia!
1. I regularly make quiche for dinner and love having leftover quiche for breakfast. I have never thought about making an extra to freeze in slices! Now I’m going to try this for sure!
2. I am thinking of you and hoping your surgery went well and that you’re able to rest (even maybe enjoy resting?) and have an easy recovery!
1) It’s such a great grab-and-go kind of meal. And if you take it to work frozen then you don’t even need an ice pack in your lunch!
2) Thanks!
