Pro Tips/Recipe Notes

  • You do not need to thaw the shrimp prior to cooking.
  • Preheat the air fryer to make sure the shrimp starts cooking right away; that will give you that perfectly grilled outside and plump and juicy insides.
  • If you use frozen raw shrimp, they will need 8-10 minutes to cook.
  • Shrimp are ready when the internal temp has reached 140˚F (60˚C) using an instant read thermometer.

    1. No, they wouldn’t need to be peeled. The peel shouldn’t impact the cooking time, but to be safe, make sure they reach the safe cooking temp of 145˚F or 63˚c.

  1. Why do you reheat af to 370 degrees F. but it says cook at 390 degrees F. Is this a typo or do you increase the temp. when you start cooking? I’m new at this.

    1. It’s not a typo. For this recipe, I wanted the air fryer hot for the preheat but not as hot as the cooking time. It just worked out better for overall texture when I was doing the various recipe tests. I use a basket-style air fryer so it is easy to adjust temps as you go.

For some of my other air fryer recipes I do preheat to the actual cooking temp. But this isn’t one of them. 🙂
