They say the two things you should never watch being made are policy/laws and sausage. I spent three years working for the Washington State House of Representatives in my 20’s, so it seems like the next bucket list box to check is actually making sausage!

Pair up this amazing paleo breakfast sausage with a Whole30 + Paleo Frittata or Instant Pot Sous Vide Egg Bites recipe.

Yes! Bake at 400 degrees on a rimmed baking sheet for 10 minutes, flip, and then another 7-10 minutes. As long as you are heating your oven up to 400 degrees AND like breakfast meats, how about baking some bacon?

You can also cook it in a skillet if you’d like. I prefer cast iron because it will give you that delicious sear on the top. Cook on medium heat for 3-5 minutes on each side. Remove from heat when they are cooked through.

Personally, my favorite cooking method is using a giant electric griddle. I can cook 15 patties at a time and the clean up is a breeze. We love this for pancakes as well, and my sister also uses hers for large batches of eggs. Even better, it is ceramic and not Teflon.

  1. Does freezing raw, then thawing and cooking keep the taste better? Or have you frozen cooked sausages as well. Are they just as tasty?

    • There is no difference in the taste b/t frozen raw and frozen cooked. I prefer to freeze them cooked because it is so much easier to reheat. I think people freeze it raw simply because it is convenient to not have to cook it at the time. Or, they don’t know how they want to use it once it is thawed (soups, patties, etc.)

  2. These are great!  Great tip on using the griddle as well, so much easier.5 stars

  3. LOL I wish you would have said moist, unlike most, I love the word moist. Most foods I want moist!! Including sausage, I usually do a blend of pork and something else also. These look delicious and full of flavor!5 stars

  4. These look really tasty!!  What a great idea!  Yum.

  5. My hubby has been making our breakfast sausage in a similar way for quite some time.  I actually prefer it to the prepackaged stuff!  I definitely like combining turkey and pork.  YUM!  Now I want breakfast for dinner!  5 stars
