When you love pizza, reheating leftovers in an air fryer is simple and quick. And that makes life easier.

Unlike the microwave, using the air fryer means that your pizza doesn’t get soggy. And that makes life much more delicious!

What Is The Best Way to Heat Up Leftover Pizza?

Using a countertop air fryer is hands down the best way to reheat leftover pizza. Everything heats up perfectly, and it’s ready in a flash.

If you’re wondering “is it better to reheat pizza in the oven or the air fryer”, the answer is, the air fryer wins almost every time! You can reheat 8-10 pieces of pizza in the air fryer before your oven has even preheated.

The only time I recommend using a large oven to reheat pizza would be if you have more than 5-6 people to feed. In that case, you can reheat a large amount at once in the oven.

Cook the leftover pizza at:

  • 340˚F for 2-4 minutes for thin crust style.
  • 340˚F for 3-4 minutes for thicker style crust.
  • 320˚F for 3-6 minutes for deep dish pizza crust.

Pro Tips/Recipe Notes

  • It is not necessary to preheat the air fryer prior to adding the pizza.
  • Check on the pizza after 2 minutes. If the cheese is cooking too quickly, you can lower the temperature of the air fryer by 10-20 degrees.
  • If leftover pizza takes up too much space in your fridge, we love our stackable pizza storage container. It can hold 6 slices at once, and it collapses for easy storage.

  1. The air fryer or toaster oven are my favorite ways to reheat pizza.
I have started lightly spraying the crust with water (I have a spray bottle that I keep for baking that sprays a very evenly fine mist) when I put it in and sometimes again half way through. I find it keeps the crust from drying out so quickly, allowing it it return to it’s original chewy, lightly crisp state. (I do the same thing with even slightly stale bread – makes it like new!)5 stars

    1. That’s a great tip, Lindsay! I’ve brushed the crust with olive oil before for a similar result.

With the water, have you ever tried it with reheating rice? I usually do an ice cube in a bowl of rice when reheating it, but your spray bottle sounds like it would work well too.
