It’s a sauce! It’s a marinade! It’s a dressing! It’s a dip! This cilantro lime marinade is EVERYTHING you want it to be. And so much more.

Ok, it won’t, like, do the dishes or anything. But it IS very tasty.

Much like our easy go-to chicken marinade, this cilantro jalapeño sauce is simple to make and goes with protein, veggies, and it is also amazing as a dip for fresh, crusty bread.

Even though the name of this recipe is literally “cilantro lime marinade”, if you’re part of the population with the gene that makes cilantro taste like soap, I’ve got you, boo. Sub in fresh parsley for the cilantro.

Kitchen Safety Tip

Once the marinade touches raw meat, you won’t want to reuse it.

If I’m marinating a batch of our air fryer chicken thighs, I set aside about 1/4-1/3 cup of the sauce in the fridge. That way, I can safely spoon it over the top of the cooked chicken without worrying about cross-contamination.

All the cool kids are super into safe cooking techniques. I um, saw that on TikTok. But, don’t look it up or anything because I think the internet is um, broken right now.
