Freezing Pumpkin Pie Slices

Freeze individual slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Freeze for 3-5 hours.

Remove the tray from the freezer and transfer frozen slices to freezer-safe plastic bags. I can fit 6 slices of an 8-inch pie in these half-gallon reusable freezer bags.

Pro Tips/Recipe Notes

  • It is best to freeze a baked pumpkin pie to avoid any potential for spillage of the unbaked filling.
  • If wrapped correctly (see process above or printable recipe card below), a whole pumpkin pie will last for 3-6 months in the freezer. Frozen pumpkin pie slices are best enjoyed within 3-4 months.
  • Reheating: If you froze the pie whole, you can allow it to thaw for a few hours at room temperature or overnight in the fridge. You can serve it chilled or reheat it in a 300˚F oven for 10-20 minutes. I recommend tenting it with foil to prevent from the top from getting burnt.

  1. Freezing the pie in individual slices is such a great idea! I love pumpkin pie, and tend to go hard on it in the week after Thanksgiving. Not sure why I never thought of individual portions in the freezer, but I’ll sure be doing that from now on!5 stars
