My general “mehness” about salads is pretty well-known. I mostly find them boring and uninspiring. Half of the time I feel like a cow just sitting there chewing and chewing. Moo.
But, with the right toppings like this lemon tahini salad dressing and Crunchy Salad Toppers, I’m all in. It’s bright, creamy, flavorful and so simple to make. You can easily customize it to your preferences and make the dressing of your dreams. Assuming you dream about dressing?
In my dreams, salad is made from candy and the dressing is chocolate, but I suppose the reality of an actual healthy salad and creamy tahini dressing is more realistic.
Sometimes being an adult sucks.
This tahini dressing is also an amazing substitute for mayo in this Whole30 Chicken Salad.
Is Tahini Sauce Healthy?
Yep! Tahini is essentially ground sesame seeds. Most brands only have salt added but do check the ingredients for any hidden stuff.
It’s delicious (tastes a bit like peanut butter) but has a slightly bitter aftertaste.
Where is Tahini in the Store?
In mainstream stores, I usually find it by the peanut butter. If you have a well-stock international store (lucky you!) it may be shelved with other Middle Eastern foods.
You can also find it on Amazon or on Thrive (take an extra 25% off your first order).
What Ingredients Are in Tahini Dressing?
We’re keeping it super simple with:
- Tahini
- Garlic
- Olive Oil
- Lemon Juice/zest
- Apple cider vinegar
What Goes With Tahini Dressing?
I love Lemon Tahini Dressing on salad (related: Kale Chopped Salad With Bacon), veggies (like Air Fryer Cauliflower, Roasted Asparagus, and Crispy Oven-Roasted Butternut Squash), grilled meat, grain bowls, or as a dip with veggies.
And if you really want to rock healthy eating and meal prep, roast up a bunch of veggies for the week and drizzle some creamy tahini dressing over the top just prior to serving. Check out the Guide to Roasting Frozen Vegetables for veggie roasting inspiration. Vegspiraction?

Some people may stay away from sesame seeds but I say keto. Looks delicious.
